So tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you do? Hobbies...side hustles...big dreams? What’s your passion?
I have the cutest Chihuahua fur baby. During the day I run the social media team at UMass Lowell and in the evenings, I’m a grad student. I’m graduating in the spring with my MBA. As my side hustle, I’m a photographer and a social media consultant. I enjoy working with boss babes on digital creation projects. I volunteer at an urban farm, teaching kids to cook with locally sourced food.
My website is www.styry.co My personal IG is @here.she.stands and my photography IG is @bossupcreative
How did you first hear of JUGS?
I attended a General Assembly #OFFCAMPUS blogger event in Boston back in 2016 and two of the JUGS founders were on a panel.
What inspired you to write for the blog?
I had my own blog at the time and after hearing the ladies speak about how they grew their blog I thought it would be a great way to learn from them and be a part of their community they were growing.
What is your favorite kind of post to write?
I try to live a healthy lifestyle and that requires a lot of recipe modifications and swaps. So I enjoy sharing those recipes. Anything wellness or female empowerment is my favorite kind to write.
Your favorite type to read?
I like to read about other women's beauty routines. My routine is unique to me and I think it’s an art/science when you find one that works. Also, anything about women that run their own business. I’m an aspiring entrepreneur.
How do you balance writing for a blog with your other commitments?
I try to be really honest about what I can contribute and when so, I try to communicate that with the team and working with a deadline helps me plan. Calendar reminders and my Day Designer planner keep me on track.
What are some of your other favorite blogs and social feeds?
I don’t have a whole lot of time to read blogs at the moment, but if I do have some time I love Create & Cultivate. I listen to podcasts more so, my top three right now are Open for Business, Work Party and Second Life. Social feeds on Instagram are @createcultivate, @noellebenepe, @jessicayellin and @readtealeaves.
What else should JUGS readers know about you?
Before I began my career in marketing I wanted to work in the fashion industry. I completed an internship in NY for Kimora Lee back when she had a reality TV show “Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane” and had her own fashion line Baby Phat. After my internship, I was offered a job in LA and turned the job down to finish my degree and took a job in marketing because the job market was awful when I graduated.
