Book Club Discussion Questions for 'Final Girls' by Riley Sagar

One of the things we most about reading is the ability to escape and enjoy an adventure in a world that is not our own. Sometimes, we’re glad these fictional worlds are not our own, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love the story! Final Girls by Riley Sager is one of those novels. It is a fast-paced mystery—but it is the type of book that some people love and some people hate, so let’s dive into it and see what everyone thought! (SPOILERS AHEAD!)

  1. Do you consider yourself a crime novel gal? What are your favorite types of easy-breezy reads?

  2. Did you find Quincy a convincing character? What did you think when she stole the phone at the beginning of the book?

  3. Who did you first suspect killed Lisa?

  4. Do you think this book would make a good movie? Why or why not?

  5. One theme throughout the book was the lack of fully open and trusting relationships. Why do you think Quincy eventually became so close to “Sam” despite all of the warning signs?

  6. This novel was Riley Sagar’s first thriller (he has since written three more), have you read any of his other books? How do they compare? Do you think his style was refined in his later works?

  7. This novel falls into the Gone Girl world of female-lead crime mysteries. This trend has gone on for a few years now: are you still into it or are you ready for something new?

What are you reading next?
